Pros: When an item quality is high, it is amazing. The jacquard cardigans are mostly fantastic. The lightweight felted wool is incredible. I love the cotton knit tunic fabric. And the linen and linen/cotton woven fabrics are usually fantastic. The well made items are beautifully constructed (I sew).Cons: The worst finance department in the history of cyber commerce. I ordered 4 items in the sale. Only one was shipped. I noticed a month later that I was charged for all 4, and had to ask for a refund. No apology - just a terse note informing me i would receive my refund in a few days. And I have repeatedly had to have refunds corrected when the wrong amount was charged back, amongst other things. I wonder how many customers don't check? And another con - in the last 3-4 years cheaper sleazier fabrics have been used (sleazy is a weaving term and means that the threads have not been set closely enough resulting in an unstable cloth). I have sent many dresses back because my underwear is visible under them. The pants are useless for tall people. And most of the dresses are tunics on me. And the linen knit biases badly (like a cheap t-shirt from Walmart). The dresses are also increasingly resembling mumus. Will I still shop at GS? Yes, but sparingly. Mostly knitwear and the odd tunic in my favorite style.
