I would strongly advise against renting through Haart Rayleigh. From the very beginning, they refused to do a check-in walkthrough with us. We only received the check-in report more than a month after moving in, and when we finally saw it, the photos themselves showed multiple safety hazards that the agents completely ignored and failed to fix.The flat was dirty when we moved in: grease in the oven, extractor fan caked in grime (a fire hazard), carpets covered in pet hair despite being described as “clean.” The bathroom had a corroded shower head sharp enough to cause injury, a collapsing floor, and mould issues. Yet their report claimed everything was in “good condition.” There is a trip hazard in the lounge due to the carpeted floor being loose, which can be seen in their report but went unacknowledged. When we raised these issues, their response was that a property is “typically rented as is” and that we should have asked for it to be cleaned before moving in. This is completely unacceptable, tenants should not be forced to live in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, or have to beg for basic repairs. On top of this, the flat was advertised as “quiet,” but we have been subjected to constant noise from the upstairs flat at all hours, due to a lack of soundproofing, affecting our health and wellbeing.Overall, the experience has been appalling. Haart Rayleigh have been dismissive, negligent, and unwilling to take responsibility. If you are considering renting through them, I recommend you look elsewhere.
