I have visited this clinic on two separate occasions but this review was originally submitted one-week post-op after my 2nd. The first time was to amend poor results from abroad 5 years ago for a receding hairline. My 1st FUE with Dr Zakar Rafiq added extra grafts in between the initial MFU grafts to improve the overall density and coverage of my scalp in the frontal-temporal regions. He suggested after the procedure to have a PRP injection but it cost too much so I didn't. He also advised that I would have to grow out my hair long in terms of styling since I also had mild mid-scalp thinning which he opted not to address. It improved the overall density a lot in those areas but there were also various MFU grafts that were placed too close along my hairline. When a person has a good camera or is within arms reach they can usually notice the difference if the results have immediate flaws. E.g. thick hairs angled incorrectly near the temples stick out when hair is short let alone from bald. Otherwise, I was satisfied on this occasion since I did not have my expectations too high considering the dubious reviews floating around on Google etc. Every HT clinic has to start from somewhere. My recent, second FUE was with Dr Shuiab Mir (originally booked with Dr Rafiq but was reassigned) to address the aforementioned mid-scalp thinning including the frontal forelock (middle to front area of the head where hair loss goes after temples). The consultation for this was with someone different but they assured me that it was possible via shaven FUE. If it was a viable option U-FUE was the preferred due to previous scars and very inconsistent hair regrowth pattern. On the day, I arrived early completed a short form including what I wanted for lunch then went through a health check with a technician in my operating room before seeing Dr Mir. There were also two other gentlemen booked for surgery on the same day as well as another guy who was returning for a PRP injection after his 5-weeks post-op. Dr Mir marked out the recipient and donor areas including my hairline and corners which I did not originally ask for work on. However, he advised that it would yield better results to reinforce it to give off a better "illusion" of hair density. My concern was that the misdirection of the hairs on the juvenile-styled lowered temples would be repeated as it is often a telltale sign of having transplanted hair which was one of my original concerns since my FUT abroad. From research, most if not all male transplant patients require 'mature' hairline designs in order for the new hair to blend in well with the intersection of the temples. Anyway, the procedure itself as far as I'm aware went smoothly. The operating room was very cold but this is normal for any surgical theatre to minimise the risk of infection and delay the decay of the hair grafts once they are extracted. The technicians were all non-British but I assume they all have some level of clinical training or experience relevant to their roles. I noticed that there were one or two skilled members who were assigned to work at more than one operation on the same day. My concern with that is if this could lead to overworking which would mean a crucial part of the surgery could be rushed to adjust to time constraints. Dr Mir also persuaded me to have one PRP injection at a reduced cost which I agreed to in good faith. Starting from 9am and finishing at around 4pm after the work was done, I was given a post-op printout and a selection of medication by Dr Mir to take home with me. Ordered a Bolt cab to my home from there and here we are.Pros:- Cheaper cost for hair transplantation within London and without needing to travel abroad- Easy-to-follow post-op instructions- Suitable for young men with mild recession who wish to amend or improve poor results from previous surgery- The doctors/surgeons seem to be knowledgeable enough and honest about what is achievable- The technicians are attentive and hospitable during the procedureCons: - A bit too keen to sell especially for a set of PRP injections which is more of an optional bonus than a guarantee for hair regrowth. Other clinics advertise this for a cheaper price per injection. They also request a review immediately after surgery which is a bit strange- A 'deposit' is required immediately upon the free consultation which in effect is a reservation fee covering 50% or more of the total cost (could be problematic getting it back if you change your mind)- Not always the most realistic hairline design around corners/temples and effectiveness of transplants to cover broader areas of the scalp cannot be verified- Advertise themselves under different names/profiles online which put their credibility in doubt- Limited exp. with other types as the main clients are men for hair/beard
