I have been using VueScan on both Linux and Windows systems for several years now - what a lifesave, especially on Linux. Originally chanced upon it for a Linux system, but very quickly also used it on Windows. Works with all my scanning appliances devices like a charm - and has worked flawlessly on various Linux and Windows flavors as well. Even some older and exotic hardware has not been an issue.
