I bought a two-year-old Hyundai i10 from the St Austell branch of Hawkins. There had been a windscreen repair previously carried out, but it didn’t appear to be a problem. Shortly after, I noticed that the repair had failed, and the chip in the screen had re-appeared. I contacted Tom at Hawkins, and he arranged for the screen repair company to correct the problem, which they did. Then eleven months after I had bought the car, I noticed that the repair had failed again. I rang Tom at St Austell, half expecting to be told that there was nothing more they could do. Tom rang me back a few minutes later to say that the windscreen company could not carry out a further repair, and that under the circumstances, Hawkins would supply and fit a new windscreen. This, together with the first MOT and service has now been done. I must also add, that during my visit to Hawkins for this work to be carried out, everyone in the branch was extremely friendly, and couldn’t have been more helpful. When things go wrong, the first impulse is perhaps to write a negative review. However, by the same token, such good service should also be recorded, as I for one, definitely appreciate the excellent and prompt service that I have received.
