Anxiety, stress, awkwardness - resolved to peace, calm and acceptance.

I made an initial appointment to help with issues of social anxiety, and just because I thought it might be pleasant.I don't believe in energies, spirits or anything supernatural so my expectations were somewhat tempered. I found Ani to be extremely calming and reassuring, helping me to relax and enjoy my time with her. When the session was over I was struck by how much I had enjoyed my time with her - and how good it made me feel. The feeling stayed with me and for the next few days I found social interactions easier and more comfortable. I have now seen Ani several times and regard this as a process of healing and development for me. This is something I am very keen to continue. Following my most recent session I noticed that people were responding to me slightly differently - on the same day as my therapy session, two people I have never met before, in seperate incidents, spoke to me and shook my hand.Could this really be down to my time with Ani? I believe it is. I think the positivity, confidence and comfort that she has instilled in me continues to flow into those I meet. More broadly, I find myself wondering how much goodness flows from this one person out into the world, through her clients.Enough to go on here to write a dissertation, but in short, she is very calming and makes the experience feel easy and natural. I continue to feel the benefits in all aspects of my life and look forward to my next cuddle therapy session with Ani.

    Cuddling and touch are important for our physical and mental health. They can help to reduce stress, improve our mood, and boost our immune system amongst many other mental and physical benefits.

    It is scientifically proven that touch can reduce stress and anxiety in people.

    It does seem to be the case that some people have a higher need for touch than others, though studies have shown that we all benefit equally from its effects. These include the release of oxytocin, serotonin and dopamine, as well as a reduction of cortisol, all of which help to relax us, reduce stress, depression and anxiety, and provide a wide array of both physical and mental health benefits.

    Many people have been raised in families where platonic touching was uncommon and suffer from “touch deprivation.”

    A session at Healing Cuddle offers a combination of touch, listening, and communication skills to
    support you in tuning into the kind of platonic touch and connection you want. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and desires. They can be deeply relaxing, playful, healing, open windows to new insights and more.

    Sessions are grounded in clear communication and consent. They are individually tailored and start with a conversation about boundaries, interests, and needs. Ani is honored to be
    present with you and offer nurturing touch and connection that is lacking in so many ways in our culture.

    During a professional cuddle therapy session you would receive the sort of cuddling where you are simply held and comforted, without having to worry about the other person’s level of comfort, issues with boundaries, or the possibility of the hug becoming more than platonic.

    My therapy is based on touch. A typical first session starts with a few moments of conversation so that we can start to get used to each other and establish an initial connection. Usually we then move on to some very simple exercises, such as hand-holding and breathing together. This strengthens the emotional connection between us. If and when you are ready we will move on, perhaps to a standing hug and then to a sitting hug. If all is well, we can lie down for a full cuddle. We can try different cuddle positions. Every session is different, and I will adapt the pace and the exact exercises to what I believe will be most suitable for you. Consent is vital, and I will always ask permission before moving on to something new and ask you to tell me if something is making you uncomfortable, so we can adjust. Please express yourself freely; if something is making you uncomfortable, just say so.

    Note that this is a very strictly platonic, non-sexual service and that we remain fully clothed throughout. Touching of inappropriate areas is not permitted.See more
