I was at Bay Colony HEB today in League city. An elderly gentleman emptied his items for check out but told the young gentleman that was checking him out that he might have to put something back, dependent if he had enough money to pay.The customer was 84 cents short. I was about to speak up and pay but the cashier reached in his own back pocket and grabbed $1 and paid the balance of the customers remaining bill. He did this without shaming the customer or act like it was slowing him down. The customer was very appreciative. This made my day witnessing the young generation helping out when someone is in need. Whomever his parents are should be so proud of how he acted today. So proud of him. His name was Matt H. I told one of the managers about the experience and that he was a good representative for HEB and their history of helping.
