Review Time
I wanted to create a mixed hedge that flowered, after researching various plants Hedges Direct kept popping up. I've never been a lover of ordering plants online as I like to select what I like, but because many of the shrubs I'd selected were native plants they were difficult to obtain in garden centres. So I selected the plants a total of 22 and placed the order. I did have some issues ordering online so had to call and do it over the phone. The total of the order was about £250. The lady I delt with was very nice and helpful. Within a week I had a msg to say the order had been dispatched. The day arrived for the plants to be delivered so wated in to receive it, expecting a pallet, but NO a large cardboard box turned up as the delivery driver struggled to carry it up the drive.
I opened the box and was so disappointed, only 6 plants, soil everywhere, it was so evident that some plants had recently been potted on so as to get the next price, pots split, 3 pots had been speared together with a cain so the would stack but some stems had broken. There was only 1 decent looking plant which was a choisa. Out of the whole order 75% was missing. I called the office to explain, knowone knew where the rest of the order was and were going to ask the packers. As the company seemed disorganised I decided to cancel. I said I'd pay for what I'd received but cancel everything else, which they did with no hesitation and were very apologetic. I though that was it only week or so later a box turns up with more plants. Told the driver the order was cancelled and to take them back, he said he couldn't because they were live goods and hed arrange a pick up. Yes.......you guessed it, knowone turned up
Lovely healthy plants delivered quickly and efficiently. Size as expected. I ordered bare root hedging plants, very healthy root systems. Loved the constant communication from this company offering ready support and advice so great aftercare.
Came on the day as scheduled, ordered some root powder that was in one of the boxes, was ripped(either by transport or maybe a branch sliced it) but lucky didn't lose much so no drama ( maybe bubble wrap next time), but nevertheless im happy, plants are alive and hopefully will stay alive. Will definitely use agian
