I appreciate the free version of Heidi, an AI scribe software that I've been trialing along with 3 others. I'll likely stick with it for several reasons: the free version (they need us just as much as we need them), ease of use, and writing style options. I typically use the SOAP (issues) or Psychotherapy Note templates.I don't use the software for every session because I want to keep my clinical skills sharp. I rely on it for intakes, sessions dense with content, or when I need clarity on a client's case. It picks up pertinent information 95% of the time, though sometimes I need to add information manually.I particularly like the Goldilocks writing style, which closely resembles mine. It's crucial to thoroughly read and edit the generated note before pasting it into the chart. Don't forget to review your professional organization's ethical guidelines on the use of AI.When I used my tablet, I would open Heidi in a browser but if I switched out of the browser and went to another application, Heidi was not reliable. My workaround for that was to use my cellphone, keep the browser open, and not lock my screen. Overall, Heidi has been a great little helper.
