We had a very poor experience dealing with George at Here to Sell:1. My wife and I viewed a property at an Open House (Sat 1 July) and put an offer in the following day via email. The offer was not acknowledged until I phoned George (Tues 4 July) to check he had received it. He advised at that point that he had received it an we were the only offer but the vendors wanted to hold another Open House (Fri 7 July). George advised he would be in touch after that to update us.2. By the following Tues 11 July, now 10 days after our offer, I called George again to ask for an update. He told me that there had been other offers but ours remained the highest. He said that the timescales would be extended further however as they were moving to a 'best and final' offer process.3. We received an email (Thurs 13 July) and called George (Fri 14 July) to ask to view the property a second time before making our final offer. He advised that he would have to get back to me to see if this was possible. Unsurprisingly, I did not hear from George who also ignored a follow up text message asking the same.4. Despite not being able to view the property again, we submitted our best and final offer before the deadline (Mon 17 July). This offer was also not acknowledged.5. By the close of play on Thursday 17 July we were still in the dark. I again called George (who had not saved my number) and asked for an update. He replied "Oh, I thought my colleague Alek would have contacted you", showing that the poor communication extends to his colleague and not just between his clients. The update at that point was that a decision had still not been made. It was at this point we removed our offer.6. The complete lack of communication led to a lack of trust in George that he would be the estate agent to help us buy our new home. In the three weeks that our offers sat on the table unacknowledged, we were given no choice other than to look elsewhere. Through another agent we viewed another property, much more suited to our needs, and placed an offer which was accepted within 72 hours. The disparity in the quality of service we received between the two agents highlighted just how poor George handled our situation.I would not recommend George or Here to Sell for any potential buyers who consider communication or efficiency an important part of the home buying process.
