PLEASE READ if you are considering buying a car from Hertz. (I won't bore you with the waiting 3+ hours in the lobby with 2 young kids before we even could start the buying process because they were with another customer because I still gave them my sale after that.) I drove my car off the lot, and there was already an alert about a headlight malfunction and maintenance due on the dash. We let them know the next day and they said they didn't know anything about them, but take it to a Volvo dealer and they'll fix it. I took my car to a mechanic to look it over and he found that there was cut wires leading to the headlights. He was very concerned about this because we had just purchased the car and were not made aware of this issue. When we told Hertz about this, they still had no idea about any cut wires. They said if this car had gotten in a wreck or had prior damage, they would not have to disclose it me. They also said "The car could break in half when you drive it off the lot and Hertz would in no way be liable." Can car lots even do that? I've been contacting Hertz with a lawyer back and forth for over a month and they won't do anything. This is the TIP of the iceberg of my experience with them.
