We visited Hickory's in Milton Keynes on Sunday, 15th February, for a late Valentine’s Day dinner. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.The service was extremely slow. It took around 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and while the server apologised and brought more popcorn, our food then took about 45 minutes to arrive. When we asked for the check, it took around 20 minutes to get it, and another 20 minutes after ordering our dessert churros before they actually came to the table. For the level of service, adding a service charge felt completely unjustified, especially as the restaurant wasn’t busy.The food was underwhelming for the price. I had the Carnivore tray (£33.50) and was still left hungry. My partner had the “Go Hard Go Home” burger, which was much smaller than the photo suggested and overall disappointing. The only highlights were the coleslaw and the jalapeño sausage. In total, four drinks and two meals came to £100, which felt poor value given the slow service and portion sizes.Overall, the food was okay, but the service and misleading portions ruined the experience. I won’t be returning.
