**Absolute Disaster - Avoid Cash Into Comics Consignment**⭐ (1 star)I consigned 139 comics with Cash Into Comics/HipComic and it was a nightmare from start to finish. Here are the major issues:Bait and Switch Pricing:- Initial offer: $1,700- After their "manual review": $600-700- Final amount received: $135.40- Their 900+ comic "review" was don via HipComic app took 19 minutes total - about 1 second per bookZero Transparency:- Books listed at auctions for literal pennies in a group lot of 1000 books- No notification of comic auctions - Received multiple conflicting final sales reports with different numbers- Suspected bid shilling on lots- Sales continued AFTER they claimed all sales complete and had to be called out to pay meShady Business Practices:- Attempted to resell my comics in their own stores at higher prices than auction results- Actively blocks Google and Facebook reviews- Their store listings auto-generate 5-star reviews after 45 days- Claims to have 100 locations but only has ONE actual store in North CarolinaI've Filed Complaints With:- Federal Trade Commission (FTC)- Better Business Bureau (BBB)- North Carolina Attorney GeneralBottom line: This company operates with zero integrity. Protect your collection and find a legitimate consignment service. Updatet oHipComics Final Response:1. BBB doesn't "rule in favor" - they simply confirm businesses responded. Your BBB rating is an F. That tells the real story.2. You never provided a specific list. Your email said "comics $5+ (around 169)" - no itemization. I sent 139 comics valued at $5+ according to YOUR HipComic app values. I included a detailed invoice totaling HipValue of ~$1700. You accepted and processed everything I sent. Offer never stated it was for the entire collection.3. In your AAA correspondence, you stated, "We are willing to proceed with AAA arbitration," when ADR couldn't accept the filing because they required that I have a lawyer. You were notified in October 2025 that I moved to AAA and did not dispute, then refused to sign the paperwork to continue.4. "Comics sold for ~$310, paid in full." Let's talk about your "transparency": - I had to catch an incorrect 5% fee you tried to charge- Comics continued selling AFTER you claimed all sales were complete, breaking our contract- I had to repeatedly request sales invoices- Each report had different numbers - multiple conflicting sales reports-I received $135.40 - Then I found MY comics being resold in YOUR online storefront at the original HipValue prices - which you pulled down within 48 hours of my bringing it to your attention5. "Each comic individually listed": They were part of a bulk auction lot of 1,000 comics listed at the same time, not an auction for my specific consignment with proper market exposure.6. You state: "the only item she's ever referenced is HipComic listing 18135926 - an unsold fixed price listing. Fixed price listings have no bidding."Evidence:Listing 18135894: Header text shows "4 days, 14h | 1 bid" and Offers History shows Mark (314532) with $1.20 offer, status "PENDING"Listing 18135926: Offers History shows Mark (314532) with $1.25 offer, status "PENDING"The same "Mark" account appears in both the seller role (Mark's Comics) and in the offers/bid history of items. You can clarify what "Offers History" represents on your platform and why the same account appears in both roles.7. "Settlement demand of $600": After you refused arbitration and months of conflicting reports, hidden fees, continued sales after "completion," and finding my comics in your storefront, I offered to settle for the LOW END of YOUR OWN $600-700 estimate. That's dispute resolution, not extortion.8. The Pattern Others Should Know:- Your BBB rating: F- Similar complaints across Reddit, Pissed Consumer, and other platforms, while Google and Facebook reviews are unavailable or blocked.- $1,700 offer → I accepted → 19-minute "manual review" → $600-700 → $135.40 received - Had to catch your errors repeatedly- Sales continued after claiming complete, breaking the contract- Multiple conflicting sales reports- My comics were re-listed in your storefront, then quickly removed when caught- Comics missing from sales reports, found in Mark's storefront at retail prices. (The same person in charge of my auctions)I encourage potential consignors to review the BBB Rating (F) and lack of available Google and Facebook reviews, but also the many complaints on Reddit, Trustpilot, PissedConsumer.com, and other CBG platforms and groups, where there are reviews and low ratings for HipComic by other people to protect their collections.
