Hi went to buy a Smart TV from Hirschs in Fourways. Thy showed me the HiSence range that did not look bad on the display. I purchased a TV based on what I saw. What a disappointment as the picture is really bad, the colours looks washed out and you can’t compare it to my 10 year old Samsung. The only reason I wanted to change was because the Samsung Smart TV I have did not have the DSTV app and I want to get rid of my decoders. The HiSence TV I bought was a QLED, I was told is the latest tech and the picture quality was good. But the picture quality is very poor and appears yellow like a news paper that was lying in the Sun. The black appears grey in comparison to the Samsung’s quality. I went back to Hirsch and said I want to exchange the sub- standard HiSense for a Samsung as I will pay the difference in price. Now I am told HiSense must first come and look at the tv and they will call and make an appointment. I have been waiting all day for a call and they say it can take 10 days. I must now have this bad device in my house till they decide to come. Hirsch staff tell me there is a 40% handling fee for an exchange. They probably also want to delay the process then tell me 10 days has past and I can’t exchange. Further more if HiSense is of the opinion the product is fine I must now live with this sub standard TV i really don’t want. I am left with no re course. I don’t want this thing as in my opinion it junk and I don’t want it in my house. I have been buying most of my products from Hirsch over the years but this will not be the case going forward. I can’t trust them. The guarantee is another issue. The sales person told me there is a 5 year guarantee, then later I was told it’s only 2 years whereafter they only pay 30%. Then if you read the guarantee information you get with the TV it’s a totally different story. To qualify for extended warranty you have to register on the Hisense site, which is totally different to what I was told by the sales person. By scanning the QR code to register it takes to you site to register. To enter the purchase date there is drop down menu only going to 2018 and you can’t enter the purchase date manually. Is this now a scam between Hirsch and Hisense not to honour the warranty. How can you trust this retailer and or supplier of goods. I totally lost my trust in Hirsch and will no longer purchase anything from Hirsch and I will make sure people get to hear about my experience.
