Unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience with Hitchcock. I paid £37.50 for 3 oil filter kits for my Royal Enfield Classic 350. Shipping cost to Italy is £40.51 for an almost weightless packet (exactly 150gr.).They probably forgot to declare the actual value of the goods, because I had to pay €39.51 (ca. £35) for VAT and import duties. Final cost £113.00. Never again!UpdateI was contacted by Hitchcock's Motorcycles about my negative review and I replied as follow:Hello Allan,thank you for your message. I try to avoid as much as I can to write negative reviews, but in this case I had to express my disappointment hoping that it could be useful for changing something in your efficient but expensive service. Let’s start with shipping options:1) Regular £13.71You do not suggest choosing this option so we can’t consider it. 2) Parcel Force Int £31.70Delivery up to 20 working days from shipping date: this means one month from UK to Europe. Would you choose this (expensive) option?3) 4) DHLVery minimal difference, £39.93 vs £40.51, for a decent (very expensive) service. Which one would you choose?Considering this, I think that actually shipping options are very limited. I use to buy from various seller in UK, but shipment is never so expensive, and even admitting DHL is a very good courier, I am sure there might be more options at a better price. In my case, shipment for a packet that weighs 150gr is much more expensive than the goods I ordered.Regarding Vat and custom duties, I took some information from DHL Italy and they gave me this explanation:1) no taxes or import duties are requested for items with a value inferior to €150,00. 2) Our Vat (IVA in Italy) is 22% on the items price, and it is applied both on goods value and shipment. In my case I had to pay Vat on £37.50+£40.51, for a total amount of £78.01, €90,00 ca. So I had to pay €19,80 (Vat) on €90,00 plus €19,79 for DHL administrative costs, as they call it. To summarise, DHL cost is £57.51 (£40.51+£17.00), or €66,30. Sorry for this long reply, but I think that, considering what I tried to explain from a customer point of view, maybe you could consider a different shipment policy for European clients.
