Look at their other reviews. Don’t buy anything from them!! Not if you want good value or fair service! Please learn from my experienceI spent over £200 autumn 2024 on yew hedging. I planted them in good soil immediately. By spring 2025 at least half had gone brown – in part or in whole. I contacted the company who told me firstly it has be a”terrible time for yew” (you said it), then said it may have been” too dry” and asked me to wait 4 weeks. Stupidly I did wait. By then more plants were brown and dead. I sent pictures as requested. Suspect this was just a holding manoeuvre., because by then no replacement bare root plants were available Was told it “may have been too wet” I was then told I couldn’t have replacements til autumn 2025, but please send more “close up” pics which I did with some effort. I was then told they didn’t need more pics. So why ask for them? Because an adjacent glass cloche was showing in the picture ( but totally unrelated) I was told it may have been “too warm”. What is it – too dry , too wet or too warm? Make your mind up Hopes Grove !! Just one excuse after another . September 2025 was no use to me. I asked for a refund – “Oh -not possible “ - only a credit was available. I wastold my consumer rights did not apply because “plants are perishable items”. Extremely reluctantly I accepted a credit note but when I tried to apply it I was faced with total silence and no response to emails ( thank you S***- a really great and professional way to deal with an unhappy customer) . When I later reluctantly picked something else for my £91 credit I still had to pay £12 transit with a further £3 VAT ie £15 to pay., There was no point in arguing with the young girl who repeatedly told me “I’ve just started.” God help her. So yes in the war of attrition Hopes Grove won, but in the war of customer service and satisfied customers they lose big time. They obviously can’t even spell or understand Customer Service or Reputational Damage. So goodbye Hopes Grove. NB I don’t suppose for a second that Hopes Grove owners want to learn about Customer Service, delivering value or dealing with customers’ problems but they should remember that when you stick your head in the sand someone is likely to kick your b*ckside. . Any potential customers should beware totally and buy elsewhere . You don’t need the grief. And they don’t deserve your money. There are lots of good providers.
