I don’t normally give bad reviews. I feel I have to in this situation. We stayed in MERCHANT LOFTS in NOLA. Unit 301. The dead bolt on the door would not stay locked. While we were inside or outside. No where in the instructions does it say you have to put in the code when you leave. On our last night someone came into our unit. I know I locked the deadbolt. It was 2:50am. Luckily, I am a light sleeper. I heard the deadbolt unlock but wasn’t sure that was what it was. So I got up to check and our door was open and the elevator door was closing. As far as I can tell nothing was stolen. We were not harmed, but needless to say we did not go back to sleep after. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. I am reaching out to possibly get the floor video to see if the person took anything. This building has a coded entry and all of the doors have a coded entry. So the lock did not work or the code is the same in different floors. Not appropriate or safe. The Merchant Lofts and Hosteeva need to fix this so it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
