We booked a mid term let through Houst as our house was being renovated z our Houst property manager was very attentive and helpful “till” we booked.
Once we had moved in he stopped responding to our queries. 3 weeks into our 2 month move, at 8pm the actual owner of the flat showed up at the door and told us to vacate in 24 hrs. We have a 5 year old child and both have full time jobs. This was in the middle of the week.
When we called Houst to have our situation explained, they asked us vacate. The property manager was no where to be found. The customer service person tried to escalate the situation and was very empathetic but provided no resolution considering that they are the ones that should be dealing with the property owner as the contract is between them and the owner. Our contract is with Houst.
We ended us having to plead and explain to the landlord our situation where he took advantage of our vulnerable situation and we needed up paying more rent Houst refused to take responsibility. We will never book with these people ever and never encourage anyone else to do the same.
