As a concerned citizen with four decades of experience in Health and Safety, I reached out to the relevant authorities to report a highly hazardous situation I witnessed today. Scaffolders were dismantling scaffolding at a large hotel while countless pedestrians passed directly underneath. There were no warning signs or alternate pathways in place. A falling tool could have resulted in serious injury or worse. Unfortunately, the authorities showed no willingness to address my concerns. They simply instructed me to fill out an online form, which was impractical as I was on the move and away from a computer. I was trying to act responsibly and leverage my expertise to prevent a potential tragedy. If this is the current approach of the authorities, I believe they should be reevaluated, and the negative feedback on public review platforms further supports this view. It's time for change.
