Would I recommend this mindset shift? 100.01%. But it’s definitely not for everyone. All depends if you can handle the .01% extra each day. So the first week I joined, my own self-doubt made me think some a-hole from the internet scammed me, but I refused to go to AA at that point, and I was drunk when I gave them my card info anyways. So I enter the group with an alcohol problem, 7 day a week drinker, wife left, sexual frustration, the usual. I was desperate at that point.3 years later… my desperation that day was the best decision I had made in a very long time at that point. This place truly saved my life. I have a lot of respect for this team and these brothers. Actually today marks 900 days since I got off the alcohol. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t drank since. I chose self control and choose where it fits in my life. And it doesn’t fit in many places I have learned. Cause so far it only fit in 2 times and consisted of 1 shot, 3 beers, and 6 glass of wine in 900 days. And this is coming from the guy that finished half a 30 pack a day and half a bottle of liquor on top of it 7 days a week. Thinking I needed that much just to keep my personality living and breathing… … the lies we tell ourself are endless. Don’t get me wrong, my life still has its crap attached to it that I’m working on in the group currently, but the problem I came in with, is the last thing on my mind and so far from a problem now. So know this, IAMACOMEBACK is not an alcohol recovery program, it’s the unfiltered best friend you wished you had. Because once you get off the boozes, you quickly realize the alcohol is not the problem. You are! Truth. But be patient with your mask and then you will be unmasked. And it feels amazing! So within the first 5 months inside the mindset shift, it really was a rollercoaster of the start and stop self control like I did alone all the time, but this time something was different… …I wasn’t alone. No one came to save me, but I had real brothers to annoy with my f***ed up life and it allowed me to find more than I can share in this post. But I will share, the patience for my success was something I sincerely felt and still to this day feel inside the group. Cause to many times in life we can be surrounded by so many people physically, yet feel like the only one in the room. And as men there are not to many people who want to hear you whine about your own mistakes and fears, or brothers who will sit through your lack of discipline for you to find your self control. People give up too quick on men. But not here! We all have been there. So its the real deal here.
