This surgery with Dr. Karatas has been the best decision of my life and the more I reflect on the experience, the more grateful I become (I didn't know it was possible!).Communicating with the medical coordinator meant that from the very beginning any questions I had were answered and my nerves were reassured. Once at the hospital, the staff were wonderful and my translator Hassan was so kind and supportive. I felt like everyone there had my health and my future as their priority, undergoing comprehensive testing to not only prepare for surgery but also reflect on my overall health. Before the surgery, I met Dr. Karatas as well as the anaesthesiologist and a general health doctor who signed off that I was ready for the surgery. They all had so much positivity that any anxiety was washed away by the positive vibes.Post surgery, Dr. Karatas and the team of nurses have been incredibly supportive and kind - they were on schedule for all medications without having to ask for it (I know this sounds standard but this is rare in my experience with the NHS) and their reassurances meant a great deal to me. I can not recommend highly enough Dr Karatas and his team. Dr Karatas is a pioneer when it comes to bariatric surgery and his confidence and quality speak for themselves. There is not a single negative word to say about my experience and I will be recommending him to anyone who asks about my surgery and the process of getting a gastric sleeve.Thank you Dr Karatas for changing my life and giving me all the tools to make this change last forever!
