Alhamdulillah – I Can Read NowI’m a revert, and at the beginning of Ramadan, I couldn’t read the Quran at all. I found out about this academy because they were offering free classes during Ramadan, and a friend encouraged me to give it a try. I was nervous and honestly didn’t know what to expect, but I’m so glad I took that first step.By the end of Ramadan, I was able to read a little and now, Alhamdulillah, I can read.The teachers have been so patient and kind with me. As someone in university, my schedule isn’t always the easiest, but they were always understanding. Whether I had to miss a class or change my timing, they worked with me without hesitation. They never made me feel behind or like I wasn’t good enough.I struggled a lot with pronunciation, and for a long time I felt like I’d never get it. I had been trying to learn for two years. People would offer to help me, but I never really progressed. This was the first time I felt truly supported and motivated.I want to especially thank Sister Mudhaam Mataan, who has been incredibly sweet and patient with me, and Sister Mahnoor, my very first teacher who helped me get started. They both made such a big impact on my journey. May Allah reward them and this academy.I used to watch videos of people reading the Quran fluently and think, “I wish that could be me.” I never had the confidence to believe it was possible. But now, after putting my trust in this academy and, most importantly, in Allah I can read.If you’re thinking about learning, especially if you’re new to Islam like me, I would 100% recommend this place. It doesn’t matter what level you’re at they will meet you where you are and help you grow.Alhamdulillah for this journey. And Alhamdulillah, I can now read the Quran.
