This is my first laser engraver.I had it now for only about a week and a half.It was very well packaged and reading online documentation allowed me to get it up and running in under an hour.I use the Lightburn Software,which also has tons of documentation.It's a learning curve for sure and you need experiment with the speed and strength of the laser beam as well as the raster DPI for each material. I consider this fun and am very pleased so far.You need a pretty clean work area and good ventilation.So far,all is well,and I am very satisfied.
