Disappointing Campaign Experience

We engaged with the campaign and found it lacking in two main areas: poor value and subpar quality. For the cost, we received just two PDF files, one being the solution. The experience boiled down to reading a single document. There was no effort to provide additional pathways for exploration. A missed opportunity was the potential for multiple intermediary clues locked behind passwords. For instance, the deceased's phone could have been a clue requiring a code to unlock further information, instead of the unhelpful hint it attempted to provide. Many creative avenues went unexplored. This resulted in a product that feels lackluster. While I understand the use of AI-generated images due to their inception phase, the absence of meaningful content and player engagement was striking. They didn’t seem to put in the effort. The campaign's quality was also lacking. When we consulted the answer sheet after the game, we managed to arrive at the correct solution only by eliminating other possibilities, but the reasoning was confusing, and not in a positive way. Spoilers ahead. The solution was poorly constructed. We were expected to infer that the culprit’s name resembled a character from mythology, which felt like a mere coincidence rather than a logical connection. In what world would a detective accuse someone simply because their name sounds like a mythological figure that vaguely relates to the situation? Other clues exhibited similar leaps in reasoning. We were to assume that an anonymous individual on a website was the culprit based solely on gender and age. Honestly, what were they thinking? At least seven of the twenty-one clues displayed such issues. We found ourselves laughing at the absurdity of the clues instead of being engaged. The campaign feels uninspired and careless. It’s precisely what should be avoided in mystery writing. For anyone reading this, I strongly advise against engaging with the campaign. We still have two more to tackle, and I hope they are nothing like this one.
