Inner French has developed a set of courses in French to bring intermediates up to expert level. I have just completed the first course: Build a Strong Core and it is outstanding. The subject matter is varied and interesting; grammar is taught with a soft, but firm, touch, and one has plenty of practice in listening to "real" French. Even the exercises are fun to do!! Questions are answered rapidly and help and explanation given where requested. I recommend Inner French wholeheartedly and without reservation
This is another fantastic course from the instructor. I appreciate the structured approach as it provides a sense of order and progression. Personally, I find the grammar section to be comparable to the first course; it's a solid review. I agree that focusing on an overwhelming number of rules isn't effective. For me, this course strikes the right balance, emphasizing vocabulary building and helping to train your ear to understand French at a natural speed with engaging content, along with quizzes for grammar and comprehension.
I just finished the "Build a Strong Core" course. The instructor did an excellent job of addressing and clarifying frequent errors and misunderstandings for non-native French speakers. The writing and listening activities were very beneficial. I wouldn't be concerned about the few negative reviews. From my viewpoint as a course completer, those reviews seem misguided and unjustified.
This course is exceptional for low to medium intermediate French speakers. Having participated in courses over the years, I have reached a B2.2 level. The content provided was not entirely new, but it served as a thorough review of essential skills that were clearly explained and supported by numerous examples. The team has done a fantastic job of offering engaging and relevant material for each session, typically followed by a grammar lesson and quizzes. The quiz interface functioned effectively. Overall, this course is a valuable investment of both time and money.
