I want to begin this review by stating that not only have I attended numerous types of psychiatric treatments for BPD symptoms (DBT, CBT, group therapy, 12 step, inpatient, PHP, outpatient, etc.), I have also worked closely with BPD patients and their clinicians in multiple types of treatment modalities in various support positions while attempting to treat and help them manage their BPD symptoms with little to no success for them nor myself in the short or long term other than temporary symptom remission. That being said, I can confidently state that Reality Integration Therapy for BPD through the Integrate program is the upcoming leader in treatment for this awful disorder aka Borderline Personality Disorder. What was once widely known as being a nightmare of a disorder to treat by clinicians and patients is succinctly distinguished, categorized and organized into a program that makes it not only easier to diagnose (by root cause rather than symptoms) but explains HOW to treat it and MOVE ON FROM IT TO A HEALTHY LIFE. It is not “easy” to heal from (I have personal experience as it took me two years to heal the disordered object relations resulting from the disorder myself within the self guided RIT program) but it is POSSIBLE….and in an era filled with doom and gloom and despair regarding mental health diagnosis’, a program like RIT through Integrate is awe inspiring, necessary and in my opinion cutting edge leading to actual healing rather than the HUGE rates of recidivism we see today in the treatment industry.
