My first stay in Amsterdam was fantastic. Almost too good actually. Conveniently located beside the train station and a quick ride into the center. Had laundry on site and a fully equipped kitchen. Was in a 4 person dorm and it was cleaned and refreshed every day whether someone checked out or not.Next stay was st. Christophers Inn Canal Paris. I wasn't as pleased with this stay compared to the first one. My stays were meant to have breakfast included and there had been a policy change by the establishment that was not indicated to the package planner so I was only given a voucher for breakfast on the first day and then had to pay for my own breakfast every day after that. The first room I was assigned to was leaking from a rain storm and water was coming into my bunk so I had to relocate to another room. But that's the establishment issue. The stay was quite far from most or the tourist areas but the metro is only 4.20eur and pretty easy to use. Laundry but no community kitchen. My third stay was also a St. Christophers Inn in Barcelona, I actually preferred this one over the Paris one, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, really nice outdoor patio to hang out on, air conditioned. The 12 bed dorm was a lil tight. The establishment provided Tip-based walking tours around the city. Again the breakfast was meant to be included but because of the same policy change I had to buy my own breakfast every day. All my trains were on time and comfortable. The train to Barcelona actually had a small dining cabin with a kiosk for sandwiches, snacks and beverages.
