Sean Marshall from Irving Associates completed a very detailed survey for us on a property in Sheffield. We purchased the full, detailed survey as it is an older property.The report was very clearly set out and not full of jargon, so it was easy to read and set out a couple of problems with the property. Using the findings from the report we were able to get a quote from a roofer for remedial works and then felt confident going ahead with the purchase with a revised purchase price reflecting the cost of works that need to be carried out.We will move into our new home soon with a clear idea of jobs that need tackling immediately and those that can wait. We also have a good idea of the insurance value of the buildings.Buying property in the UK can be a daunting task and I’m very glad that we were able to make informed decisions based on the report.
