I completed the traineeship in September. The portfolio projects were amazing to work on. I would like to say that I wish there had been more portfolio projects with the tutors during the traineeship and less theory, as the amount I learned from the projects alone was immense. Paddy, the head tutor, was excellent. He prepared me for real-life scenarios with the projects. For example, the second project involved picking up where another developer had left off. I applied what I learned from this experience during a job interview, and they really appreciated it.Ann was absolutely brilliant! She prepared me for interviews and career fairs like a coach preparing a boxer for a match—nothing was left to chance! She would make the time to call me even when it was last minute and busy. I went to my first job interview still energised from her preparation, and I got the job :) Looking and applying for jobs can be daunting but having Ann to support me definitely made the difference!Completing the traineeship is hard; I won't lie. But it's definitely worth it. My advice to new students is: keep pushing, even when you feel like you've hit a wall and everything seems so complicated and your head is aching.Take a break, contact your tutor, but don't give up, be persistent and results will come :)
