The test of a good car dealer is how they respond to fix any problems you encounter within the 3 month warranty. Can’t fault John and his team at James Grace Cars - who tackled a tricky starting issue with a diesel KIA C’eed I bought late last year … as the seasonal temp dropped in November, cold starting became a lengthy cough cough process. Bad enough to make me seriously regret opting for my first ever diesel motor.Tried basic fixes as well as changing oil/air filters etc … no improvement … Research on Internet suggested faulty glow plugs -their mechanic soon fitted a set of quality Bosch - a fractured plug was discovered - consensus thought problem sorted … strangely cold start issues continued. Left it with them - finally it was fixed fitting a KIA starter fuse pack component. (Not cheap!). Had no further issues since … always starts in the coldest weather 1st time - especially throughout Jan/Feb.John covered expenses to sort this and ensured this customer was finally much happier with his purchase. 6 months later the car performs perfectly - and my faith in diesel cars/winter running has been restored! … it’s also increased in value. ££ bonus!… Happy to buy from this dealership again because you know John will do his utmost to fix things if he can. Being old school, just be aware he responds to phone calls better than e-mail … The 2nd hand car trade can be a minefield - so when you discover a good dealership like this one - like discovering a good reliable mechanic - stick with them - rare as gold dust.
