The morning after my package shows it arrived in the U.S. I got a text with a link to a fake/scam USPS website telling me: Your package arrived at the transit center, but we were unable to deliver it due to incorrect shipping information on the package. So clearly they have my phone number and know that I have a package en route. Great, scammers now have my phone number. Their shipping partners are involved in scams, and decently sophisticated since they target people expecting a package from overseas which could reasonably have a delivery exception. Maybe don't give them my phone number.
