Rodger
Unprofessional. Disappointing.

The Realtor turns up late to the property inspection, blaming traffic - which is understandable, so they get someone else to open up the property. When the Realtor turns up, they are rushed and briefly greets some people, mostly talks fast and answers sharply. We ask to see the carpark of the property - which they take us to the lift for, but doesn’t know if you need a key to come back up (PREP YOUR KNOWLEDGE FOR THE PROPERTY). They are sharply dressed, though it’s hard to not avoid seeing the rip in the back on the suit in the top right corner (DRESS TO IMPRESS). The realtor leaves us to our own devices for a few minutes and we like what we see in the garage area. When we come back up - everyone is basically gone. When I state - ‘oh! Everyone is gone?’ - they reply ‘oh yeah, it’s a 15 minute showing’. The realtor had turned up at the end of the showing and did the bare minimum. So I simply tell the realtor - $XXX price takes the property? The Realtor says - yes! We say - we’ll take it. We have a finance clause we want to add and the Realtor says no worries. He does say there’s a ‘no building inspection’ thing in there - but we like the property - so we just go with it. We contact our broker on the spot, but the broker is busy. We organise to deposit the 5% as a direct bank transfer. The Realtor is fidgety and on his phone, says the property is the best priced in the market. We agree. We ask why the property was back on the market after it sold at auction. Apparently someone bought it - then someone else made a better offer, so they took that - but that fell through and when they went back to the original buyer - they didn’t want it after what they did to them.He looks like he’s in a rush and hurry. I ask him ‘do you have the time for us to purchase this property’ ‘Yeah sure no worries I got time’. Ok - I think to myself - we don’t want to put you out of your way with a property purchase or anything. The Realtor gets us to sign documents on his phone with a broken screen - stating sometimes it works when signing (FIX YOUR TECH AND BE PRESENTABLE, YOU ARE SELLING PROPERTY NOT CANDY).The Realtor becomes real fidgety they have another appointment and ushers us out. That’s fine. The realtor is busy. We leave the property and he leads the way - heading right out the door and basically saying BYE GOTTA GO! While myself and my wife stand in front of the sale sign on the property - we take our own celebration picture and wonder just how much of a rush the realtor is in - still, we don’t let it ruin our happiness (WORK ON YOUR FAREWELL, TAKE TIME TO CELEBRATE WITH THE BUYER, WORK ON YOUR CLOSING SKILLS). We later find out the property currently has issue with cladding material and there was water damage in some of the building. These things the Realtor was aware of - but didn’t mention the cladding issue flagged for safety which can affect loan applications. It’s starts coming to light why the property may be cheaper due to the cladding issue that is still being resolved and the water damage to the property previously. Over the next period of time, the Realtor keeps stating they will call in a text message - but never bothered to call or to show up for a building inspector even though it was planned. I called the Jellis Craig office - they didn’t know where he was and asked me things like ‘did you text him?’ - of course I did. There’s a building inspector that’s been waiting at the property for an hour. The receptionist says ‘you aren’t being charged for the building inspector call out though’ - THATS NOT THE POINT. ITS UNPROFESSIONAL. Their lack of care instead of customer concern caps off the throughly disappointing, fast talking, money focused poor experience we had. The realtor we had is a shining example of a realtor who was passionate, hungry and enthusiastic when they first started out - but is now arrogant, complacent and so very bored of the industry.
