We followed the suggestion to set up our eSIMs at home and activated them upon arrival at the airport. The eSIM functioned perfectly throughout our travels in Japan, even during our hike on the Nakasendo trail from one town to another. The only issue we faced was with texting, which could have been due to user error. Overall, it performed as promised, and we were very thankful for it. If we visit Japan again, we will definitely choose this eSIM once more.
