Review Time
You have to pay additionally to view pictures and videos which is nonsense especially comparing to GolovAI.com
where you can watch everything without any limits as many times as you wish. So if you look at the price quality ratio, Joi AI is not a good deal. Every time I used it I had a feeling that they were trying to rip me off at every opportunity. Finally I've had enough of it. I got sick and tired of always being requested to pay more for advanced features - something that is not even considered advanced on the other platforms.
I really wanted to like this service, and in the interest of fairness, I'll start off by going over the positives of it. There's a wide variety of both community made, and original characters for you to interact with, from Anime girls to Adult Film stars to relatively average people. The bots do a good job of communicating, respond quickly and haven't said anything too strange as of yet for me. They offer an image and video generation tool, which is easy to use, but can provide strange results even if you're good at prompting AI (I'm not). The site is intuitive and easy to use, even if it's prone to glitching out on my phone, it's still very accessible.
Now for the bad. I feel that this service is egregious with it's monetization. From the cost of images and locked messages that the characters send you when chatting, to the cost of the AI generated images and videos you can make, it's all designed to make sure your wallet gets drained as soon as possible. I thought - foolishly, perhaps - that if I subscribed to this service, that it might make the paywalls far less of an obstacle, after all a subscription offers free image and video generation as well as a seemingly undefined number of Neutrons (their premium currency) per day. In my experience, this was not completely the case. I personally don't care about image and video gen. I'm here to chat, and the constant paywalling of content is still an issue. I'm honestly not even sure if I've gotten my Neutrons, to be completely truthful. I did a few things beforehand to get some Neutrons, like linking with discord, but if I recall correctly, that only gave me 100 Neutrons, and at some point I had 200, so if the stipend they give you is 100 neutrons per day, that's barely enough to have a conversation with a single bot over the course of a day; You certainly aren't gonna be opening any pics they send you, because the cheap ones are priced at 60, and the presumably saucier ones are valued at 120. To make things worse, I'm pretty sure that they have some serious back-end issues, I've spent neutrons and got nothing in return on at least one occasion, and others on their discord have said the same. I emailed their support about the issues I was having and over 24 hours have passed without a response. In summary, this is my first AI platform that I actually put money into. I had no expectations and was still disappointed. There is promise here, but I cannot recommend it in the state it's in.
It's better than some alternatives, but I find that another option works better, especially when it comes to prompt conversations. The service doesn't charge for off-topic or irrelevant responses, but I've ended up wasting more currency than I should due to recent problems with it including unnecessary content. It's also quite pricey.
This app has a lot to offer. The generation of videos and photos is quite impressive, but you need to get the hang of crafting effective prompts. My favorite aspect is the diverse range of chat characters, including both real-world and fantasy NSFW options, which suit various preferences, and there are platonic friend options as well. I've had a great time with both. The only drawback is that everything requires payment through in-game currency.
I’ll let other negative reviews do the talking. However, it’s evident that this is a scam. They utilize a currency system called "Neurons". The AI can give or take away Neurons, which you have to purchase with real money. The scam is straightforward: they initially give you 5-10 Neurons, but soon they only take them away. As you interact, you end up losing Neurons. The prices to buy more are excessively high. It’s a scam from beginning to end.
The characters are generic and limited to 150, which feels very restrictive compared to other platforms. The variety is significantly better elsewhere, even for selective users. The pricing for what's offered seems excessive. A significant issue is the requirement to pay for a full year upfront, which feels unusual. There are no options for shorter subscriptions at a lower rate. The AI is quite basic and primitive, so if you're looking for quality entertainment, this isn't the right choice.
It's a complete scam. Even with a premium plan, all the bots behave the same, primarily focused on extracting money by asking for gifts or sending pay-to-view pictures. Exercise extreme caution if you choose to try it, and if you subscribe, remove your payment method immediately, as any accidental click could result in charges without confirmation.
The characters are not tailored to users. The limit of 150 characters feels very restrictive compared to other platforms. The selection is much better elsewhere, even for those who are particular. Additionally, the service is quite pricey for what it offers. A major concern is the requirement to pay for a full year upfront, with no option for a lower-fee short-term subscription. The AI is quite basic and underwhelming, so if you're seeking quality entertainment, this isn't the right place.
