Our experience with Jones Whyte Solicitors was deeply disappointing from start to finish. We were charged five separate £42 CHAPS fees with no clear explanation as to why this was necessary. Any time we asked a question, it took around a week to get a response, which caused repeated delays and unnecessary stress.
When our buyers hadn’t paid by lunchtime on completion day, there was no sense of urgency from the team at all. Even worse, they paid our Early Repayment Charge despite the lender explicitly instructing them not to. This mistake directly caused financial difficulty for us, as the equity from the sale was meant to clear an existing loan. Because they paid the ERC in error, our payment to the loan company was delayed and additional interest was added.
When I raised a complaint, there was a complete lack of empathy or understanding about the impact their actions had on someone already in a financially vulnerable position. At no point did we feel supported, prioritised, or treated with basic consideration.
Overall, I would not recommend Jones Whyte based on our experience. The communication was slow, the errors were costly, and the customer care was non‑existent.
