Initially I saw an ad on Instagram. I thought I’d look into Journee. All I saw were positive reviews which made me think it was too good to be true until I gave in and trusted the process. It didn’t take much convincing after that! I did the questionnaire and received my proposal! This trip was a graduation present to myself and I figured I start all of my “Journees” at the same time! I’ve traveled around the U.S. and parts of Europe and Asia before and with that I think that gave me comfort in a mystery trip.Journee took care of booking the accommodations, activities, and flights! It was incredible to not have to think about the stressful parts of a vacation. Time and money are deciding factors for many people. Journee will ask you for your budget and work within your means. To me, it was difficult to even put a price on this opportunity. I had an 8 day trip; it was just the right amount of time to experience my destination and short enough to fit everything I needed in a carry on! I booked this vacation as a female solo traveler. I felt safe and was able to communicate with Journee, my friends and family throughout the entire trip. I had asked Journee a few questions about data options while abroad (they told me I needed a passport!). Prior to, during, and after, Journee was responsive and resourceful. The activities that were booked were booked through companies that reflected the same communication. The companies even asked contacted me prior to confirm pick up times! It’s so simple but so very appreciated and reassuring. I knew I was taken care of. The instructions were so well communicated, thoroughly researched. I met other Journee travelers during some of my activities as well. We all had different reasons for booking, I needed a change of pace and selfish getaway, another one is a world traveler and wanted to try something new, another one needed a getaway to forget about reality, a couple I met were on their honeymoon and opened their package at their wedding reception. Ultimately, we all wanted something new. We all would book it again. I can speak for myself when I say I got way more out of this trip than what I was expecting.Ya know that feeling when you get done from vacation and you just can’t wait to get home to “normal”? I didn’t get that. I felt refreshed. Journee allowed for me to let go, relax, and the only thing I had to worry about was to decide where to go to dinner…and Journee already gave me a list of restaurants to try😂 I didn’t have to think very hard about that either! I went to Azores, Portugal for 8 days, a place I’ve never even heard before. It turned out to be a dream come true. I met incredible people along the way including Journee travelers, other solo travelers, and locals. I learned about the culture, farming, religion, food, lifestyle. I encourage everyone to at least look into it. It takes 10 min to fill out the questionnaire. After that, decide if you want to take the leap of faith. It was worth it to me.
