I have been using kayak for years, and it has been an excellent source of information regarding the best travel deals. I have booked many flights through agencies referred through the app.Unfortunately, I booked a flight with a disreputable agency called AranGrant, using a direct link from kayak. It is advertised as offering Instantbook. AranGrant took my money but made no booking and tried to sell me a bad alternative for 80% more than I paid. Firstly they maintained that they had taken no money from me, now they admit it, but I am waiting for my refund.I informed kayak of this, and no one has bothered even to reply. They have a moral and legal obligation to ensure that businesses referred directly through their app are reputable. They have clearly done no due diligence on AranGrant, yet obviously receive some form of commission for their referrals.At the very least, kayak should assist clients who have been scammed as a result of using their app. Their failure even to have the courtesy to respond to me is very disappointing.UPDATE, 27 DECEMBER 2024. I have had a few meaningless emails from a so-called "VP" for customer support at kayak, but still waiting for my money from AranGrant. Despite being aware of the fraudulent business practices of such companies, kayak unfortunately continues to make itself complicit, and an accessory to such fraud.
