The Kerb Appeal director came to my house as I was looking for a new drive and quoted me a decent price for doing an anthracite resin drive. What they do is they take a 20% deposit then pass on the work to a sub contractor to whom you pay the balance. The sub contractor superficially did a good job and it looked great at first however he did not put down a concrete base. After a year the resin started to come away. After many phone calls during which they tried to blame me for having the temerity to park my car on the drive, they eventually returned and had to re-do about 3 square metres putting down concrete this time. The colours now don't match perfectly. In addition there are now other parts of the drive which have come away and I have several holes about 30cm x 30cm where the resin has totally gone. They no longer reply to my calls. The sad thing is that I think the contractor who laid my drive wasn't incompetent, he deliberately cut corners to maximise his profit knowing that he would be off the scene when the issues surfaced. Also many rust spots have appeared on the drive. I don't know if this was unavoidable or whether poor quality materials were used. Either way it looks a mess and won't wash off.
