I've supported about a dozen projects on Kickstarter, and fortunately I've had more good experiences than bad, but sometimes the bad issues are VERY bad. –– Campaigns which were fully funded failing to deliver on their promises, or send patrons their rewards for backing the project. Project managers taking months or even over a year working out production and shipping issues, and most importantly, limited accountability being exercised by Kickstarter. (However, to be fair, the site does indeed warn you before committing to support a project, that you do so at your own risk.)All in all, I still frequent the site for cool stuff to support, and I wouldn't deter anyone from doing so, but just as the site says, you are supporting these projects out of your own pocket, at your own risk. And there is no guarantee you'll see any of the end results of the campaigns you support, so make sure you do your own research about the product/group you're giving money to.
