Edit 22.12.2024: So I git a very nice and personal email from the companyowner/founder today, with a heartfelt excuse and explaining all his difficuties. (Like 1-man business, too many emails to cope with, extracosts, a lot of cancellations and that he almost had to shut down his business.) I have to say, this makes me feel very sorry/sad for him and I am gonna add two more stars to my review now, BUT: I am also a 1 woman business, with money problems and all that, but still I handle those kind of situations different. But as I always want to support small business owners like myself, I feel like giving 4 stars now is the appropriate thing to do. And the caledar ist absolutely dope, no doubt about that.This was a frustrating experinece, although the items in the calendar and the calendar itself is absolutely the best experience ever. But I strongly feel a massive disappointment how everything was handeled. The Advent Calendar arrived TODAY (21.12.2024) Useless to say, that a calendar that arrives 3 days prior to christmas is kind of a bad joke. Especially, when you perordered it in September for your child who is a huge Gibli fan. What I do miss here is the communication. I asked by the middle of November, when the calendar will arrive and was then informed, that due to a cyclone the calendar will arrive ane week later than expected. Yes, a cyclone somewhere in the delivery chane is nobodys fault. But I do not get informed, I have to run after this information, leaving me with nearly no chance to replace it? Yes, I was offered a cacellation of my order and to get my money back. But I thought: one week later - I can explain this to my son. In fact the calendar arrived today and I couldn´t get a hold of somebody on Kinda Kawaiis side - my emails asking about the calendar stayed unresponded. Yes I got a tracking number, that showed no movement for weeks and all I got was a roundmail with no solid information. Funnyly I ordered some Lotterie things from Kinda Kawaii, to fill the void for my son - they all arrived earlier than the calendar, and within 10 days, after I ordered them. So I feel kind of "outsmarted" here and I am not happy how this situatin was handeled by Kinda Kawaii. At the end the calendar costed me over 180 Euro, including the shipping and the additional taxes I ahd to pay for getting it to germany. And it arrived TODAY. That is disappointing, and yet no sorry or reply to my emails from last week. I am giving only 2 stars here - not because the calendar is not wonderful, it absolutely is the best thing for a Ghibly Fan. But if I would treat my customers that way, I would loose them. It is your responsibilty how to handle things that got wrong, not the clients responsibility. This whole story made my christmastime as a single mom to a worry-time, and I feel not treated well. And I say it again: Giving two stars for a wonderful, thoughtful and special calendar feels wrong, but it costed me a lot of nerves, money and worst of all: I had to cheer up a sad kid constantly. And no - receiving the calendar 3 days prior christmas even though it is wonderful, does not make up for the past 3 weeks :-(
