We did the knuckles and kotaganga waterfall hike with LankaTrek. Our guide was fantastic, incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the surrounding landscape. We really enjoyed his company and were lucky to see some great views in between mixed weather.There were a few disappointments. When booking, I asked the company if February was likely to be bad weather as I'd read it was the wet season and a poor time for trekking. They assured me that the weather was very good in February. In fact, our guide confirmed that February is wet season and it rained both days of our trek, obstructing views. I suppose what you'd expect from someone trying to make a sale, but a bit disappointing!The trek itself ended up being two out-and-back trips on largely the same stretch of trail, so was very repetitive at times. On the first day, we ended up hiking back down to a location we had driven past in the morning, so it would have been nice to have the option to leave our belongings there rather than carry them up and down the mountain for no reason.I think in dry season it would be fantastic.
