I purchased mascara from Lash Cosmetics in September 2025 and immediately noticed unexpected additional items appearing on my order. I contacted customer support the same day to cancel the extra products and requested a refund, which led to multiple emails attempting to upsell me instead of simply processing the cancellation.At no point during this exchange was it made clear that I had also been enrolled in a paid VIP subscription.Months later, I discovered recurring monthly charges of USD $31.63 via PayPal, billed by Nimbus LLC, labelled only as “VIP Customer Benefits”. This totalled $152.93USD!!! The billing descriptor gave no meaningful indication of what the charge was for, and I had to dig through PayPal transaction metadata to identify the product ID and link it back to this purchase.The combination of:a confusing checkout processaggressive post-purchase upsellingvague billing descriptorsand an ongoing subscription that was never clearly disclosed creates a customer experience that lacks transparency and informed consent.I have now cancelled the subscription via PayPal, but customers should be aware that a simple product purchase can quietly turn into an ongoing monthly charge unless you actively monitor your payment accounts.EDIT: 25 Jan 2026You have responded to my emails, and I most certainly did not KNOWINGLY SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR GOODS AND SERVICES.
