Don't accept first $$$ quote

I contacted Leaffilter online and shortly after received a call and Sales Rep arrived to provide a quotation. He showed me product information, asked if all decision makers were available. He then walked around the house measuring (roofers were installing new roof). Then he performed some calculations on piece of paper and told me price was $11,000+ dollars. Hold on, there's some "today only discounts" available so the price is $8000+.No written quotation just pricing on piece of paper which was never given to me. My response was that I'd think about it - roofers were going to be another couple of days until they were finished.About a week later, I receive a phone call from a different gentleman from Leaffilter who tells me there is an "End of Month Discount" and gives me a price of $4,400. I tell him that for that price I'd like to proceed and was expecting some paperwork to follow. I confirmed my Email with him. He asked if they could do install the following day and I stated that I would not be home so suggested the Wednesday of Thursday of the following week.On Monday night (a Holiday) I receive a call from a different gentleman who asked if they could do the install the next morning (Tuesday). I explained that I would be out for a while in the morning but he stated his crew would be there all day so it was OK. The crew showed up at 9 and aside from driving across the neighbour's lawn and wanting to use a bathroom upon arrival it went pretty smooth.Mid afternoon the crew knocked on the door to say they were finished and mentioned something about paying at which point I stated that I had no paperwork. I'd never received a quote either in person or by email so had no idea of final price and how to pay it.Certainly wish I'd had an opportunity to check all the installation after they finished as I've discovered a small section that has been missed and dispite repeated emails and phone calls I receive no response from Leaffilter.Gentleman who had quoted me price on the phone was pretty quick to show up in person with printed quotation looking for payment but not so responsive in sending out crew to fix to section that was missed.It rained 2 nights after the install and I had water running over the gutter near my front door. Seems crew didn't clean the downspout so debris from roofers and new roof got flushed out into big pile on top of guards blocking all the water.I'd suggest checking your installation as best you can before you make payment and certainly never accept the first price that you are quoted because it appears there's always another discount just round the corner.My issue with installers missing a small section of the gutter has not been resolved and I'm not getting any response to phone calls or emails.
