Not all heroes wear capes, but the staff at Lepsons Ltd are most definitely heroes! Who went above and beyond any expectation for what you may expect, for a service like this.Before I heap more praise, I need to provide you with a short back story.A few weeks back, I hit a pothole, which sounds quite innocuous and to a degree most are. But not this one! It was 30cm wide and 50cm long, with a depth of 18cm.My two passenger side tyres were both shredded and I was left stranded for over 6 hours, on a poorly lit country road. When assistance finally arrived, in the form of a mobile tyre service, I was so grateful to finally get back on the road. My evening was ruined and the car was pulling to the right, but I was still very happy to be heading home. Little did I know the further damage caused by this service.I then took my car to my local garage to be checked over and resolve the wheel alignment. I also asked them to move one of the wheels so that the car felt more balanced. When I received the car, the garage told me that one of the nuts on the wheel they moved had snapped, but they got it off and I thought nothing more of this. Little did I know that this would be a ‘red flag’.Moving on with the repair to the pothole damage, I then asked Lepsons to check, refurbish and recoat my alloy wheels, which were in great need of this service, due to the battering this pothole had created, along with the visible cosmetic damage. Thinking nothing of this, I dropped off my car, only to receive a phone call later that day from a very helpful person called Jay. Jay informed me that two of my nuts had broken while they were carrying out their tasks and that they could not get all the wheels off. Which then led me back to what my garage had mentioned, about the difficulty they had, in removing one of the nuts on the other damaged wheel. It turned out, after joining all the dots, that the tyre fitter had been very reckless in carrying out their tasks. I had been very grateful at the time, but I did observe that he had used a hydraulic air tool to remove the wheels and tighten up the new ones. Which I later found out, that this practice was not correct, that they had not followed best practices and had tightened my wheels to a ridiculous level, resulting in the wheel nut damage.Jay told me that he along with his team would do everything they could to resolve this, but the outlook looked very bleak. A whole day was spent drilling into the sides of the two offending nuts and they worked well into that evening, by the end of the day, they had removed one nut, but removing the wheel was proving to be very tricky indeed. The next day, around midday, I received another phone call – success they had removed the wheel. I was so relieved, but also very aware of the time spent in getting to this point and as we all know, time is money. I was dreading what the bill might be.As part of the service, they replaced all the nuts, on all the wheels, along with the centre caps which were looking a bit tired. The crew at Lepsons take great pride in their work and they wanted to make sure my wheels looked fabulous for when I receive my car. They did indeed, they looked amazing and have set such a high benchmark, but how much would this all cost?Jay had been a fantastic communicator and had kept me informed at every level of repair and he also felt my pain, as I was starting to show a level disheartenment. He did everything he could to make me feel better and without him on the end of the phone my stress levels would have been difficult to contain.How much did this service cost? As you all know, great service costs a fortune in todays society. Well, this cost less than £100 above the original quote. This included, the extra day and a half spent getting the wheel off the car, brand-new nuts for all wheels and the gleaming new centre caps. Wow, just wow! What a bunch of superheroes!I will certainly use this company again and I recommend anyone out there to give them a go. I personally do not think there is a better service out there and it is so nice, in todays day and age, that there are people who care about the service they provide and the customer care.Thank you so much to all the staff at Lepsons!
