Had 4 wheels refurbished in November - so pleased with result that I wrote 5 star review. Since then the car has done no more than 350 miles. Took in for MOT today and failed due to missing wheel nut. No-one has worked on the car since the refurb. Phoned to notify them - no apology - evidently it was my fault because I hadn't brought the car back to Gillingham from London for 'retorquing' which they say I had been informed of and is in the T & Cs. No one had told me this on collection - I paid the £400 and they simply gave me the keys - just checked the invoice and T & Cs - no mention of torquing or returning the car after a month. More importantly - no concern that I had been driving around with a missing wheel nut for 6 weeks. In 50 years of owning cars and vans, never had a wheel nut come off - especially concerning as their business is tyres and wheels!As an update - I recently had a puncture and when the wheel was taken off the special security nut that is supplied with the vehicle and that prevents the wheel being stolen wasn't present. So the wheel could be removed by thieves with any wheel spanner. The company told me when I complained that the nut may have fallen off or been stolen after they re fixed the wheel and that I should have made a 100 mile round trip for 'retorting'. But without the locking spanner no one could have removed the nut - the only people, apart from myself, who ever had the locking spanner were this company and it was only they who could have mislaid the special nut. Now I've got the problem of sourcing another locking nut.Just read their reply - can't believe it - they specialise in fitting wheels and tyres - leave off a wheel nut and then blame the customer. In 50 years of driving have never been asked by a service supplier to have a wheel nut re tightened. It get's worse because I discovered when having a puncture repaired recently that it was the locking nut that was left off meaning the wheel could be stolen by anyone with a torque wrench - pathetic!
