Hello Everyone, back in January of last year, I underwent a screening, which included the "Carotid Artery Disease Screening" evaluation. My results indicated mild findings; the physician reviewed the ultrasound images and blood flow measurements, noting minimal plaque build-up that did not impact blood flow. It's important to understand that this service does not specifically test the heart's arteries. Blockages can still occur in the coronary arteries even if the carotid arteries appear clear, meaning heart disease risk may exist despite mild carotid screening results. Later, I had a CALC score of 214, which is moderate and concerning. A subsequent CTA revealed arterial blockages in four arteries, with two at 70%. Thankfully, I had a heart catheterization recently and, by the Grace of God, did not need a stent. I share this to emphasize that I neglected to act on the initial results because they seemed reassuring. However, I should have consulted a cardiologist immediately. The only reason I pursued further testing was due to chest pain. If you receive any concerning results, please consult your doctor; it could save your life. Therefore, I rate this service 5 stars for serving as an important alert.
