I rented a room in Bordeaux for my son through Colonies, paying €595 per month. What followed was an unbelievable and extremely disappointing experience.It took 2.5 months before he finally received a working key to the apartment. During all that time, he had to rely on flatmates to let him in and out, since accessing his own accommodation independently was impossible.We contacted the company multiple times, made international phone calls, and even sent registered letters to their headquarters and online platform. Each time we received the same excuse: “It’s the key company’s fault, there’s nothing we can do.” Meanwhile, my son was paying full rent for a room he could not enter on his own.Colonies showed no real responsibility, no urgency, and no proper compensation for the inconvenience and costs caused. In the end, we decided to terminate the rental contract because they failed to provide a serious solution or a fair compensation.This company initially seemed promising, but our experience was deeply disappointing. I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting with Colonies.
