Further to my previous report, my bank account initially showed a debit of £0.95 which was the fee which I authorised to be taken. No service was received for this payment. I received an email receipt for that sum from Location-Tool.com. However that debit later disappeared from my account. I became suspicious and called my bank’s fraud department. They told me that several debits for small payments had been attempted by this company, whereas I had only authorised one of £0.95. They were rejected. Then a debit for £9.99 appeared on my statement. The fraud department told me that I had signed up for a subscription with this company, and this was the first payment. I had no idea about this, so re-read the email receipt mentioned above. At the end it says “You have been charged for a 1-day trial. After 24 hours, the offer will be automatically renewed in a subscription without commitment, at the price of £9.99 per month, unless canceled within the trial period. Cancel anytime online or by email.” So according to them I had allowed them automatically to take monthly payments of £9.99 without me realising it, and without any specified time limit. This payment, and this company have now been blocked from my account by my bank’s fraud department. So as long as you expect to loose your phone, say 11 times every month, and if they do find it for you, you might be pleased with this service.
