I did a review three days ago and spoke too soon. Closing the loan may have gone well, but the settlement process through Lower and their assigned settlement company (Summit) has been four days and counting of poor service, excuses, outdated processes and failure to resolve the problems. I closed nine days ago and am still waiting on paper checks that have been promised three different times with three failures. Now with a weekend and holiday approaching, I'm likely left waiting another five days to resolve. A simple update to modern forms of electronic payments could have avoided all the problems. Think twice and ask questions about who is handling settlement.
