We used LuggageToShip.com to send a non-commercial, personal-use shipment of used baby items to family in Turkey. Before booking, I called their customer service twice to specifically ask if there would be any customs issues for a personal shipment. On both occasions, their representatives assured me there would be no problems.Based on that assurance, we paid for their service. The shipment arrived in Turkey — and immediately got stuck in customs. Over the next two months, we contacted more than 20 customs brokers, but not a single one was willing to handle the package. Turkish customs simply refused to process it.We repeatedly emailed LuggageToShip for help. Their response was that it was “out of their control” because it was a customs issue. But if this is a known problem with Turkey (and clearly it is), then why do they advertise and accept shipments to Turkey without clear warnings to customers? At the very least, they should have disclosed this risk before taking our payment. The situation became so bad that my wife even flew to Turkey at her own expense to try to resolve the matter in person. Despite that, and dozens of calls and emails to FedEx Turkey and customs authorities, nothing was resolved. We’ve now wasted:The cost of the shipmentTravel expenses to TurkeyCountless hours of time and energyTo make things worse, we have asked multiple times for the shipment to be returned to the U.S., but the process has been stalled for months. No meaningful help was provided to actually get the package back.⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT: Do not blindly trust the reviews you see here. After our booking, LuggageToShip asked us to leave a positive review in exchange for a discount on our shipment. That means many of the glowing reviews you read may not reflect real, unbiased customer experiences.Key issues future customers should be aware of:No proper pre-shipment warnings about known, recurring customs restrictions in Turkey for personal-use packages.Misleading phone assurances that there would be no issues. No real support once the shipment got stuck — repeated “it’s customs” replies instead of actionable solutions.Significant financial loss (shipping fees + international travel costs).Months of wasted time and stress with no resolution.Potentially biased reviews due to discount incentives for positive feedback. If you are shipping to Turkey — especially personal-use, non-commercial items — I strongly recommend you avoid LuggageToShip. The lack of transparency, combined with the absence of a workable solution when things go wrong, makes this a costly risk I would never take again.
